AAWE 2013 CHARACTER COUNTS AWARD

  1. Miss Glory Tega Ogofure is an SS2 student of Emotan College, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She attended Owegie Primary School, Benin City from 2002 to 2008. She is sixteen years old. She was born on November 17, 1996 in Benin-City to the family of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Ogofure from Emevon town in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State. She is the Assembly Prefect and Time Keeper of the school. She is well behaved, trust-worthy, respectful, very dutiful and punctual. She is one of the role models for the other students because of her punctuality and organizational skill in handling of the school assembly every day.

  2. Miss Jennifer Aimionmwanmon is an SS2B student of Oredo Girls’ Secondary School (SNR), Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She was born On March 11, 1997. She is very punctual, always regular and attentive in class. She is a very well behaved student, respectful to both her fellow students and teachers. Jennifer is very sound academically and her classroom participation is excellent.

  3. Miss Cynthia Omoforwan is an SS2 student of Anglican Girls’ Grammar School (SNR), Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She is the school’s head girl and also her class prefect. Cynthia is a very respectful, punctual and a role model for other students to emulate. She is the last child of the family.

  4. Miss Precious Okonji is an SS2A student of Imaguero College senior Secondary School, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She is 16 years old and she is from Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State. According her principal, Mrs. F. J. Omorebohae, she says “Precious has displayed an exemplary character among her peers in the school. She is a conscientious student. She is also reliable and responsible. She is highly recommended fir this character award”.

  5. Miss Oshioke Latifa ldris is an SS2IB of Federal Government Girls’ College, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She is from Agbede in Estako West local Government area. She is the second child of a family of eight. She is a quiet, respectful and responsible student. Her wish is to study very hard and support her family in the future.

  6. Miss Queen lyalekhuemwen is a student of Ogbe Junior Secondary School, Ogbe, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She was born on February 26th, 1996. Queen is a responsible and hard-working student. She is the third child of a family of seven. She serves as a house help to a lady who is not her relation, because her parents and other siblings reside in the village. In spite of her background she has distinguished herself both in character and learning.

  7. Miss Blessing ldemudia is an SS2 Osemwende secondary School, Ohoghobi, Benin-City. She is 17 years old. She is the third child of her family. Blessing is the prefect in her class. She is very respectful, punctual and hardworking. She is a role model for other students to emulate.

  8. Miss Mabel Osaroan SS2 of St. Maria Goretti Girls’ Grammar School, (SNR), Benin-City, lkpoba Okha LGA. Mabel is a respectful, reliable and hardworking student.

  9. Miss Charity Asemota is a JSS3 student of Obasuyi College, Obayantor, lkpoba Okha LGA. She is 13 years old. According to her principal, Mrs. M. E. Ehizokhale, Charity is a very hard working, intelligent and honest student”.

  10. Miss Gift Egbele is an SS2 student of Eweka Grammar School, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She was born in November 14, 1996. She is the fifth child, second daughter of a family of ten. Gift is a quiet, humble and respectful student. She enjoys sport, such as long jump and football. She is also interested in science and she preparing very hard for her West African School Certificate Examination.

  11. Miss Favour Ojike is a student of Ogbe Junior Secondary School, Ogbe, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She was born May 12, 2000. She is the fifth child of nine children. According to her principal, “Favour is a very well behaved student. She is intelligent and a kind hearted girl. Despite her poor background, she is very cheerful, friendly, humble and a good role model for other student. I strongly recommend her for this award”.

  12. Miss Aisosa Obasohan is a JSS3 of Idia college Junior Secondary School, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. According to her principal, she says “Due to her outstanding academic and moral performance, she is currently the Head Girl for the Junior Secondary School. Aisosa, though reserved in nature, has a charming personality and an outstanding moral character that earned her an award in January 2013 from the old girls of Idia College as the best behaved student in the Junior School. She is calm, humble and hand working student who shows deep commitment to duty to duty and has a good relationship with people around her”. Aisosa was born on the July 22, 1999. She is the second child of a family of five children. She hopes to attend Harvard University to study medicine and would like to specialize in diagnostic medicine.

  13. Miss Jacynta Osayaba Osifo is an SS2 of Idia college Senior Secondary School, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. According to the school’s principal Mrs. E. H. Ogbebor, she says “Jacynta is a very determined, focused and serious minded student, dedicated to her studies and is very hard working. She is in school with all enthusiasm to meet up with her mates and has endeared herself to the teachers and students alike, which gives her the encouragement she needs. Jacynta is a gifted child, in January this year, 2013, she was given two awards – The best student in Mathematics and Science by the old girls of the school, Infact, and she is one of the best student in her class. It may interest you to know that Jacynta is physically challenged and uses wheel chair. Her inability to walk has been quite constraining but despite this, she is very intelligent, enthusiastic and willing to learn”. With all the qualities above, l hereby recommend her for the AAWE Character award.

  14. Miss Chika lke-Ojukwu is an SS1 student of St. Mulumba Girls’ Secondary School lwogban, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She was born on September 19, 1998. She attended Ebenezer School Complex, GRA, Benin-City for her primary education. According to her principal, “Idibia as she is fondly called is an ever cheerful and very simple looking girl. She is no less sociable despite her great sense of duty. She participates in social activities – sports, dancing, debates, singing, public speech and excels in them all. She plays active parts in the Holy mass. She is chorister of ardent zeal. In class, Chika shows a healthy curiosity. She is an attentive listener and an active participant in her class activities. Her performances in class work and home work is nothing short of excellent. Chika’s humble and attractive attitude reflects more or less her spiritual and moral state. Her interest in the Holy mass and prayers evident in her prompt attendance and active participation is an ample testimony of her moral state. She is obedient to her teachers and to her seniors, infact everybody. Physically, socially and academically endowed, Chika is an excellent gift to all the students, teachers and her parents”.

  15. Miss Gift Momodu is a JSS 3 student of New Era Junior College, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She is the current Assembly Prefect of the school. According to Gift’s principal, Mrs. M. O. Adams, she says, “after due consultations with both staff and students, Gift has been unanimously acclaimed the best behaved student for the year 2012. Here are the recommendations from her teachers and students:
    • Mrs. Omokhegbele – “She is always punctual and she sweeps the assembly ground by herself everyday”

  16. Miss Jemilatu Momosani is an SS2 student of ltohan Girls Grammar School, Benin-City, Oredo LGA. She is the seventh child of her parent’s eight children. Her dad is late and her mother is only person caring for all of her children. She is a very humble girl, respectful, dutiful and ever ready to take on any assignment given her with diligence and joy. She respectfully persuades her teachers to teach her and her fellow students when they are free. Her hobbies are reading, cooking and hair dressing. She hopes to a professor in a university someday.

  17. Miss Damilola Ajagbonna is a JSS 1 student of St. Maria Goretti Girls’ Grammar School, (Junior), Benin-City, lkpoba Okha LGA. She has been holding leadership positions in the school because she has the qualities to lead and also carry her mates along in conformity with the school rules and regulations. Damilola is a very neat, obedient, regular and punctual to school. She is very respectful, hard- working, quiet and intelligent. She loves singing Christian songs. She has participated in many competitions and has performed brilliantly well. According to Damilola’s principal, she says “if she given a better encouragement, she will be a star of recognition”.

  18. Miss Rebecca Ofor is and SS1 student of St Andrew’s College Emu, Esan South East LGA. She comes from a family of five children. Her father is late and her mother is solely responsible for all of her siblings. She is a very quiet and well behaved student. She won the best behaved student award in 2012. She hopes to become an accountant in future. Her hobbies include: singing, reading, dancing and cooking.

  19. Miss Mary Amhedu is a JSS 1 student of St Andrew’s College Emu. Esan South East LGA. She was born on January 1, 1998. She is being raised by a single mother. Mary is a very well behaved, quiet, responsible, caring and kind. She hopes to become a nurse and a Reverend sister in the future. She enjoys reading, singing, cooking and praying.

  20. Miss Faith Omonjiade is a JSS 2 student of Ewohimi Secondary School (Junior), Ewohimi, Esan South East LGA. She was born on June 20, 2000. She is very punctual to school, quiet, hard-working and dutiful. She hopes to become a lawyer in future. She loves reading, writing and telling stories.

  21. Miss Obehi Okoemu is a JSS2 student of Ohordua Mixed (Junior) Secondary School, Ohordua, Esan South East LGA. She was born on September 14, 1999. She lost her father when she was very young. Obehi is intelligent, quiet, hard-working and very well behaved. She hopes to become a nurse if she has the opportunity. She loves singing, writing, dancing and caring for her peer group.

  22. Miss Believe Unuaremhen is a JSS3 student of Ohordua Mixed (Junior) Secondary School, Ohordua, Esan South East LGA. She was born on January 30, 1997. She is gentle, respectful, loyal, hard-working and intelligent. She hopes to become a lawyer. She enjoys singing, writing and reading.

  23. Miss Nicolet Obaweki is a student of Ebhoiyi Secondary School, Uromi, Esan North East LGA. She is a very well behaved, reliable, responsible and caring student. She is always punctual and regular to school. She is always in a happy mood and enjoys helping others.

  24. Miss Rita Imadojemu is an SS2 student of Efandion Senior Secondary School, Uromi, Esan North East LGA. She was born on October 10, 1996. Rita has a very sound character with high leadership quality. She is presently the class prefect of SS2. Her relationship with peers and teachers is highly commendable. She is very punctual and regular to school. Rita have a very high inclination to sciences and learning in general. According to her principal, she says “I want to unequivocally that Rita will by the grace of God, be an asset to our great country Nigeria”.

  25. Miss Marian Inibhojie Egbehon is an SS2 student of Our Lady of Lourdes Girls Grammar School, Uromi, Esan North East LGA. She was born on February 26, 1995 in Uromi. She is third child in a family of seven. Marian is a very well behaved girl. She is quiet and also hard working. Her best subject is economics and she would like become an accountant in the future. Her hobbies are reading and listening to music.

  26. Miss Esther Michael is an SS2 student of Ohordua Mixed (Senior) Secondary School, Ohordua, Esan South East LGA. She is a quiet, responsible, obedient and neat student. She is the most intelligent girl in her class. She is also a hard-working and selfless student. Her hobbies are reading and cooking.

  27. Miss Faith Iyiagan Adianu is an SS2 student of Sacred Heart Girls’ Model Secondary School, Ubiaja, Esan South East LGA. She was born on January 18, 1996. According to her principal, Mrs. R. B. Ibiezugbe, she says” Undoubtedly, the school has no misgiving in nominating or vouching for her in line with the criteria of the Association Against Women Export (AAWE) Character Counts Award”. Faith is a quiet and responsible girl. Her hobbies include reading, singing and traveling.

  28. Miss Jolly Okoduwa is a JSS student of Irrua Girls’ Junior Secondary School, Irrua, Esan Central LGA. She was born in August 12, 1999. She is the second child of the five children of her parents. Jolly attended Equare Primary school, Irrua after which she proceeded to Irrua Girls’ Junior Secondary School, Irrua. She is an intelligent girl, quiet, neat, respectful and humble. Her ambition is to become a medical doctor and her hobbies are singing and reading.

  29. Miss Martha Omoye Amedu is an SS2 student of Irrua Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Irrua, Esan Central LGA. She was born on July 20, 1998. Martha’s best subjects are Biology, Chemistry and Physics. She would like to become a medical doctor. She is an extrovert who loves and environment that is filled with love and understanding. She is very caring, concerned about others, very well educated and very disciplined. She is very eager to contribute meaningfully to the development of the nation and beyond, especially the emancipation of womanhood from the shackles of mental slavery. She enjoys singing and dancing and love to be in company of good and reliable friends.

  30. Miss Sandra Ogun is an SS student of Irrua Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Irrua, Esan Central LGA. She was born on May 5, 1996. Sandra is an introvert and she loves a quiet environment that is condusive for reflecting about future achievements. She is very ambitious and studious to be able to make her make her impact both nationally and internationally. Her best subjects are: Mathematics, English, Physics and Chemistry, all with a view of studying medicine in the University. She enjoys reading.

  31. Miss Faith Ejemen Edokpa is an SS2A student of Idunwele Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Ewu. She is sixteen years old and she is a native of Ewu. Faith is a quiet, very well behaved and responsible student. She hopes to become a Mechanical Engineer. She likes dancing and reading.

  32. Miss Rafiatu Ani is a JSS3A student of Idunwele Girls’ Junior Secondary School, Ewu. She is thirteen years old. Her parents are both parents. She hopes to become a medical doctor. She enjoys reading and writing.

  33. Miss Blessing Adeyemi is an SS2 student of Okpuje Senior Secondary School, Ivbieleke, Ivbieleke, Iuleha. Owan LGA. According to her principal, Omiunu Omole, she says “Blessing is with good school and class attendance, unequal participation in school activities, good character, good behavior, respect for peers and teachers and displays a very high level of responsibility”.

  34. Miss Taiye Abisetu Hafsat is an SS1 student of Oke Senior Secondary School, Oke-Ora, Owan West LGA. She was born on April 23, 1995. Taiye exhibits an exemplary character since she was admitted into the school in 2912. She is hard-working, disciplined, punctual and assessable to teachers and her peers. She has not in any way derailed.

  35. Miss Able Omokhuduis a JSS3 student of St. Mary’s Grammar school (Junior) Eme-Ora, Owan LGA. She is the last child of seven children. She is studious, diligent, obedient, hard-working and a well behaved student. She is a pride to the school community.

  36. Miss Augustina Oiyemoria is an SS2 student of St. Mary’s Grammar school (Senior) Eme- Ora, Owan LGA. She was born on August 10, 1997. She is the fourth child out of seven children. Augustina’s principal, Mrs. E. I. Ajayi says, “She is a disciplined, ambitious and regular in school. She exhibits a good relationship with the school authority and her fellow students”. Her hobbies are music, reading and traveling.

  37. Miss Sonia Akhigbe is a JSS 2 student of Holy Trinity Grammar school (Junior), Sabongida Ora, Owan West LGA. Sonia’s behavior is simply outstanding. She comes to school early everyday to sweep her class and empty the dustbin. Her kind disposition towards other students has become the talk of the whole school. She is disciplined, morally sound, obedient to the school authority and above all, she is a devoted Christian and God fearing.   38. Miss Faith Edafe is a JSS 3 student of Uhonmora Junior Secondary School, Uhonmora, Owan West LGA. She is a responsible, hard-working and respectful student. She is loved by all her peers because of her humility.

  39. Miss Regina Ofure Ikeafele is an SS3 student of Holy Trinity Grammar school (Senior), Sabongida Ora, Owan West LGA. She was born on August 21, 1995. Since admitted into the Senior Secondary School in 2011, she has exhibited same high level of discipline in character and learning.
